NEPTUNE MEMORIAL REEF™

An underwater tribute that creates life after life

About the Reef

The Neptune Memorial Reef™ is an artificial reef located approximately 3 miles off the coast of Key Biscayne, not far from Miami, FL. Built as an artistic interpretation of the Lost City of Atlantis, the Neptune Memorial Reef™ is a resting place for those who choose cremation and want to be memorialized in a unique underwater setting.

Visitors are Welcome

The Neptune Memorial Reef™ is free and accessible to all. Boat activity at the site is brisk. This unique artificial reef and undersea art is popular among recreational scuba divers, marine biologists, students, researchers, and ecologists. The Reef maintains buoys over the site for boats.

Features of the Neptune Memorial Reef™ contain cremation ashes and should be respected. Families are welcome to participate in deployments by prior arrangement. Family members have become dive certified to visit the site, visit their loved one’s memorial and monitor the progress of the Reef. TESTIMONIALS

Maria Raines

I am so happy the funeral home told me about Neptune’s! It’s such a beautiful spot to have my dads ashes spread. They documented the releasing with many lovely pictures that I felt I was right there with him when he went. Thank you for such a wonderful way to memorialize our loved ones! I am putting this as my final resting place in my will also.

Neptune Memorial Reef is a very unique dive site, and it has to be one of most healthy and prolific reefs I have been on in South Florida. It’s a beautiful way to memorialize a loved one in such a peaceful and serene setting.

Robert Brach

Michael at Neptune was extremely patient and knowledgeable, as I contacted him several times with questions and concerns. He made sure I had a clear understanding of the process, the packages and all the options available and helped guide me through things–making the best choices for me. He is a true professional and always returns call promptly. I encourage others to look into this special way to make your final arrangements–he was a pleasure to work with!

AN ECO-FRIENDLY RESTING PLACE

Neptune Memorial Reef™ is proudly certified by the Green Burial Council. The Reef was designed by a marine biologist to attract and support certain marine life to build an ecosystem. Neptune Memorial Reef™ is teeming with life at a faster rate than hoped, and is an ecological success.
